What "KODAK Means
As a word, a trade-name "Kodak" is simply an arbitrary combination of letters. It is not derived from any other word. It was made up from the alphabet, not by lucky chance, but as the result of a diligent search for a combination of letters that would form a short, crisp, euphonious name that would easily dwell in the public mind. - The Kodak Magazine July 1920
